Centre Communications began servicing the Two-Way radio needs of the Central Pennsylvania business community in 1987 from a small apartment in Lemont located minutes outside of State College. Two local companies were purchased and merged by two individuals who knew they wanted to grow a strong customer focused business. Customer's noticed the desire to solve their communications needs and they spread the word that Centre Communications was the communications company to service Centre County and surrounding counties. Growth was quick and in 1988 we re-located to a 5000 square foot location just outside of Bellefonte. Over then next several years we expanded our Two-Way radio offerings to include Motorola, Ericsson GE, Kenwood and accessories. Investment in quality equipment and taking the time to listen to our customer's needs has enabled us to grow each and every year in business. The year 2000 was an amazing growth year. We purchased our third business, Telcom Electronics, located in Ebensburg, the heart of Cambria County. This purchase greatly increased our presence in this area and allowed us to better service our customers. The name was changed to Centre Communications, but the staff, the quality and the commitment that complimented our own business philosophies remains. In December of 2000 construction of our new headquarters was completed. We welcomed in the 2001 New Year in our new 10,000 square foot facility. We owe this success to the many great customers that have allowed us to solve their individual communication needs. Our promise to you is a continued commitment to quality, to service, to ingenuity and to personal attention. Give us a call, or send us and e-mail with your needs or challenges. We will be pleased to help.

These customers are also in Pennsylvania and we have expanded over the last three years to include the States of West Virginia, Virginia, North and South Carolina. With our main offices based in Scottdale Pennsylvania, Speclin is part of the Pittsburgh regions renowned work ethic and manufacturing base.

Edward and Norman Pfund worked hard to build their business, and settled in Holiday Park, PA, a quiet suburb of Pittsburgh. The father and son team traveled to their hometown of Lima, OH, and bought hearse and ambulance stock units, working on them in their driveway on weekends. When finished, Edward and Norman would return or a trade-in the improved vehicles. If an ambulance or hearse sold, they’d drive back to Lima and get another vehicle to do the same. Their current location in Lower Burrell, PA was built in 1965 and sold lots of Cadillac and Pontiac ‘combinations,’ which could be used as either hearses or ambulances. In 1973, they transitioned to working on van-type ambulances, and began designing and servicing modular ambulances in 1975. Today, Pfund Superior Sales Co., Inc. is still a family-owned business and our hardworking team is proud to continue Edward and Norman Pfund’s remarkable legacy. With over 58 years of experience selling and servicing emergency vehicles, we still believe that the tenets of honesty, integrity and value are the foundation of our business.
